1. The Service

PaceReseacher is a collaborative research management platform that helps medical and academic researchers plan, write, manage references, and publish research papers. Features include paper workspace management, phase and section tracking, AI-assisted drafting with real inline citations, reference management, and collaborator invitations.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a medical or academic professional (or student) to use PaceReseacher. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the authority to use any institutional affiliation you list.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your password. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all research content, papers, and data you create on PaceReseacher. By using the platform, you grant us a limited licence to store and process your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you and your collaborators.

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload or create does not infringe third-party intellectual property rights, violate patient confidentiality (including HIPAA/GDPR where applicable), or breach any applicable research ethics guidelines.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
• Upload content that violates patient privacy or research ethics
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data without permission
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or abuse the platform
• Misrepresent your institutional affiliation or credentials
• Engage in academic fraud or plagiarism using the platform

6. Availability

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience downtime. We are not liable for any loss of data or access resulting from service interruptions.

7. Intellectual Property

The PaceReseacher platform, its design, code, and branding are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without our written permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

PaceReseacher is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including loss of research data, missed submission deadlines, or publication outcomes.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or platform notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ghana. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ghana.
